GOOD MONDAY ALL

Good Monday all , its frigid on the ranch today so its a great day to curl up with a good book and a cup of tea. Todays book is THE DIRT ON THE NINTH GRAVE ( Charley Davidson book 9) by Dayrnda Jones

                              BOOK BLURB
In a small village in New York lives Jane Doe, a girl with no memory of who she is or where she came from. So when she is working at a diner and slowly begins to realize she can see dead people, she's more than a little taken aback. Stranger still are the people entering her life. They seem to know things about her. Things they hide with lies and half-truths. Soon, she senses something far darker. A force that wants to cause her harm, she is sure of it. Her saving grace comes in the form of a new friend she feels she can confide in and the fry cook, a devastatingly handsome man whose smile is breathtaking and touch is scalding. He stays close, and she almost feels safe with him around.
But no one can outrun their past, and the more lies that swirl around her-even from her new and trusted friends-the more disoriented she becomes, until she is confronted by a man who claims to have been sent to kill her. Sent by the darkest force in the universe. A force that absolutely will not stop until she is dead. Thankfully, she has a Rottweiler. But that doesn't help in her quest to find her identity and recover what she's lost. That will take all her courage and a touch of the power she feels flowing like electricity through her veins. She almost feels sorry for him. The devil in blue jeans. The disarming fry cook who lies with every breath he takes. She will get to the bottom of what he knows if it kills her. Or him. Either way.

                          MY REVIEW
I was kind of conflicted with this book . I love Charley and her kick ass attitude towards life . She is one tough cookie , so to see her break apart at the end of book 8 was so sad . When I picked up book nine and started reading . I could see the old gang there in her new life trying so hard to keep her safe. Uncle Bob , Cookie , Swopes an the sinfully handsome Reyes are all there to watch over her . As she starts to come around we see the Charley we all know and love start emerge again. Which I was so thankful for.  The characters have never been better but sometimes they just seemed a little off . Trying to remember too much info as they were talking to Jane aka Charley.
Over all I really liked this installment the humor alone had me turning pages well into the night .  I have never laughed so hard in my life. The scenes with Cookie and Charley are hilarious . Cookie a waitress she is not and the espresso machine is her enemy. Well Cookie handling food is just worth reading the book . There was also some really great heart between Reyes and Charley. Which in my opinion could melt your kindle with each turn of the page . Honestly who knew that kitchen diner sex would be so hot.  The author did a good job with the amnesia aspect of Charley's story , but there was a couple of places where the character names got mixed up and Cookie called Jane , Charley when she was talking to Jane. Other then that the book is well written and will have you reading all night long .  We get to see everyone in a different setting and we get to see Charley fall in love again.
So if you want a good book to curl up with Check it out . Actually check out the whole series , you will not be disappointed
